Alka’s life takes a complete U-turn when she returns to India, to her father’s house, for a vacation. Teamed with her childhood friend Chander, who is a part of her father’s political party, they valiantly fight for the rights of the downtrodden. Their proximity is not taken well by her family. That and other obstacles makes Alka lose perspective and interest in life; a heart-broken Alka is all set to return to New York…Her father’s constituency gets reserved for women candidates. Alka’s father’s clout can help her win the election, but she still does not have any interest in the role… What will make Alka conscientious is an incident that wakes her up to her calling - realising that only she can make the social change she wants to see. Dhoondh Legi Manzil Humein is a love story set in a political backdrop.
The story leads to and revolves around Alka’s life-altering moment that changes the course of her journey called life.
Alka: Saraa Khan plays the vibrant and spunky Alka. Alka is a spunky, bright and a witty girl. She is a modern-day, cosmopolitan, independent girl, with a slightly fuzzy worldview. Her point of view essentially crops from the fact that she has lived a privileged life so far. During the course of the series, we see her evolve from being an underdog in situations in India to becoming a woman who discovers that she not only has the power to write her own destiny, but also to change the course of history. She eventually falls in love with Chander.
Chander: Yashwant Thakur plays the promising Chander. Chander believes in himself entirely. He also believes that the nation has eluded its common people for more than what they can take. He is a fire brand and an absolute people’s person. These qualities are paired with honesty and being head-strong. What he does not have is the political tag of a surname, which is a must for him to evolve as a politician. Owing to his brain, brawn and acumen, he should have been the ideal successor to Nityanand’s political reign. He fits the bill of a real youth leader too, but Nityanand doesn’t think so, and prefers Abhishek, his son, over Chander. As the old saying goes, blood is always thicker than water. After Nityanand plays an evil game with him, Alka pushes him to join the opposition party.
