What is real love? What is true love? Is first love the real love?
Yeh Ishq Haaye is the story of Manjari, who realises the hard way that first love or love at first sight is not necessarily true or ultimate love. What appears to her as her final destination turns out to be just a mirage.
At an early and impressionable age, she comes across a guy who sweeps her off her feet. She’s blinded by love and doesn’t see how futureless her relationship is. Even though the world around tells her otherwise, she follows her heart, only to fall flat on her face. She deeply regrets her decision when realisation dawns. Her world comes down crumbling; her parents’ dignity and trust in her, and her sister’s dreams are at stake. All is shattered owing to her impulses and innocently myopic decisions. She understands and learns how one’s dreams, desires and actions are integrated in a societal mesh, and how one wrong decision can upset it all. She now stands at a juncture where she needs all the courage and strength to amend all that has gone wrong in her life. She transforms into a giver and a forgiver.
Circumstances pair her with her exact opposite, Akshay. They have nothing in common, but when life puts them together, their love and mutual respect grows. Manjari, though, has been hurt once, and misses all the signs of the growing love between Akshay and her.
This story symbolises the life of a small-town girl, who has aspirations and dreams, and wants to lead her life on her terms.
